Gather, Create, Connect

A Vals or Gals Day Reminder to Be Present

Lately, it feels more important than ever to make time for being together. Not the kind of togetherness that happens through screens or group texts, but real, shared time in the same room. Just imagine it... quiet nights at home, easy get togethers, cooking a meal side by side, making something with your hands.

Now that you believe the words you just read (you do, right??), take it beyond imagining and make some plans. Obviously we are a little bias, but to make connecting feel like it's meaningful and fun, art time together is an easy place to start. You do not need a big plan or advanced skills, just a shared table and a little curiosity.

Host an open art night
Set out a mix of supplies like paper, paint, markers, clay, or collage materials and let everyone choose their own path. No instructions, no pressure. Just make, chat, and see what happens. These paint kits also make it easy to create together without pressure.

Collab Connections!
Work on something together instead of separately. A large canvas, a group mural on paper, or a collaborative collage encourages conversation and teamwork and takes the focus off individual results. This Partner Painting class will have you laughing so hard your cheeks will hurt! (fair warning: this one tests your communication skills as well!)

Theme the night
Valentine’s, Galentine’s, color based, texture focused, or memory inspired. A simple theme gives direction without limiting creativity. These beginner-friendly needle punch kits fit a fiber theme that's sure to give you and yours all the cozy feels.

Get personal
Make small handmade pieces for each other or for someone you love. Cards, mini paintings, decorated frames, or clay dishes feel extra special when made in good company.

These moments create space for genuine connection. When we slow down and put our phones away, we give ourselves the chance to listen more closely, laugh more freely, and actually be present with one another. In a world that is always demanding our attention, choosing face to face time feels intentional and grounding.

Spending time together helps us reconnect not only with the people around us, but with ourselves too. It reminds us that connection does not have to be complicated or curated. Sometimes it is as simple as showing up, sharing the moment, and letting the rest of the noise fade into the background.

Here are some of our favorites to spoil the ones you love!
