The Spirit and the Brush

"The Spirit and the Brush: Painting Devotionals by Thomas Kegler” is an art book containing a collection of over 120 of Kegler’s paintings, along with several drawings, created over the past decade. It is arranged to guide the reader through a year of contemplation: Spring’s renewal; Summer’s celebration; Autumn’s bounty; and Winter’s rest. The book is presented as a 365 daily devotional: each image pairs with three biblical passages (one per calendar day, leap year excluded). It is an invitation to meditate daily on the world’s natural beauty and truth through the lenses of the arts and spirituality.

This book is a tribute to Kegler’s late wife, Kimberly. Her journey with cancer enriched Kegler’s families lives and faith, deepening gratitude for every moment. His daily readings and prayers during her final seasons planted the seed for this book concept.

The hard-cover art book is beautifully designed and printed in 9”x12” (horizontal) format. It contains full-color painting renditions, includes a ribbon bookmark, and is hardbound with foil-stamped text on the cover and metal-gilt (leafed) page edging.
