Barre + Shibori with Barre Centric

SHIBORI FACEBOOKEVENTCOVER.png

Whoever says having cute workout clothes doesn’t matter, is lying. It plays a huge role in confidence and totally helps motivate you when you’re not feeling it!

Barre Centric and MUSEjar are teaming up for a fun combo workshop of Barre and Shibori! You will start at Barre (located just around the corner) for an express class then you’ll walk down to MUSEjar to learn the art of Shibori! Included in the class will be a workout tank you can customize yourself! As a bonus, you can BYO a small item from home! I love giving new life to a favorite shirt that’s been stained, or breath life into my old tea towels. Don’t hesitate to reach out about ideas!

MATERIALS: All supplies are included.

INSTRUCTORS: Vanessa Frost + Elle (Barre Centric)

Elle has been instructing barre fitness classes for over 5 years and currently manages the Southtowns location. Elle is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, and also holds a Barre Intensity certification. Her background is in Health & Wellness, with a degree from The University of Buffalo. She has taught over 1,500 classes! Always looking to help people become their best, she highly believes in barre classes and their effectiveness. She loves sharing her enthusiasm as an instructor with barre centric clients!

As a full time artist and owner of MUSEjar, Vanessa finds inspiration and joy in teaching art. Art is a language that is often forgotten about and it's amazing what happens once it's tapped into. Her background is fine art and film production, with a degree from The University of Vermont. She loves mixed media, and currently works mainly with acrylics, but she is constantly exploring and experimenting with all other mediums.

NOTE: All classes require a minimum number of students to run. Please sign up in advance to help avoid cancellation due to low registration. In the case of a cancellation, you will be notified prior and receive a full refund. Please read our class policies.

Spring Art Walk

Join us for an art installation by Nicole Vescio!

Working within the endless bounty of medicine and beauty that nature reflects, Nicole finds herself continuously inspired by form, landscape, color and what lies beneath the surface.

As a self-proclaimed botanical healing artist, she works in various mediums all found within the natural world. Digging deep to explore how plants can be utilized beyond the normal scope of expectation. From herbal based skincare and ritual offerings, organic flower and herb farming, natural dye explorations and plant meditations inspired by mythos, folklore, ethnobotany and personal experience she feels continuously inspired by the way the earth speaks and the heart listens.

The East Aurora Art Walk is a semi-annual (Spring & Fall) village-wide art event. There are multiple ever-changing venues and a large variety of participating artists. There will be a trolley shuttle running throughout the evening.

Fall Art Walk

P2.jpg

Atmospheric Landscape by Laura Cott

“Working primarily with paint and non-traditional materials like found paper; my recent work is an interpretation of my view of nature. I spend time collecting moments from water, mountain ranges, and views of the ocean and convey them through paint, paper collage and illustration. Color is used like shape—to create depth and determine dynamic spaces. My process demands planning, choosing complimentary patterns and textures with specific painting mediums like watercolor as well as Alcohol Inks.”
