Registration for this camp is currently closed.
This camp is held daily from Wednesday, July 24th through Friday, July 26th, 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
Join us for a workshop style class where we will learn, create, and edit your own short story! Short stories are a popular and well-loved form of fiction that allows you to take your audience on a brief and emotional ride. In this workshop, you will learn how to create characters, develop your writing skills, and discover the love of prose. The focus of the camp is to help develop a strong skill set that is necessary for becoming a talented writer. We will use multi-sensory timed writing prompts to help kick-start some creativity!
Ages: 11 - 14 years old
Materials: We encourage students to bring writing utensils of their choice. The studio will have supplies for students as well!
Snacks will be provided. Please let us know if there are any food restrictions or allergies we should be aware of. If you would like to send your child to camp with their own personal snacks and beverages, they are welcome to bring them.
Instructor: Emily O‘Connor
Emily graduated from Canisius College with a degree in English and Creative Writing. She has experience working on local Thrive! Magazine and as Canisius Colleges The Griffin newspaper. As a passionate mental health advocate, Emily believes that writing can be used as a positive outlet to help one express their feelings and ideas more effectively than the spoken word.
