SEPTEMBER 25 • Natural Dyes + Sustainability: Avocado Linens
Explore what it means to honor all the uses of what we consume with a beginners primer in food waste to art. Dyeing with avocado is an easy way to explore multiple uses of food waste to beautify. We can use the pit and skins to extract ranges of earth pinks, peaches and even some gentle yellows. Students will dye two 100% pure linen placemats and coordinating shibori folded linen napkins, after spending time learning about the basics of working with natural plant dyes.
