SEPTEMBER 14 + 21 • Watercolor Basics through Landscape Series with LaCott Fine Art

Join us as we explore one of expressive Watercolor's best practices, sketching!

Interested in the building blocks of Watercolor painting and looking to learn the basics in a fun way? In this beginner-friendly two-week introductory series, we will break down the foundational techniques of watercolor painting through the theme of landscape. We will be focusing on the power and mastery of water with a focus on "wet-on-wet" in week one. In week two, learn to capture detail, depth, and shadow through layering and "wet-on-dry" practices! We will focus on seeing the differences between the two most practiced watercolor techniques and using them in small compositions at the end of each week.

Students will work with class-specific warm-up exercises to emphasize the week's lesson and be used in their everyday watercolor practice to work toward completed pieces outside the series!

Students should bring a reference landscape that inspire them!
