In this series we'll get acquainted with the materials and methods, and focus on understanding the basics of working with medium.

Through three sessions students will work with, palette work, solvents and mediums, beginning with priming surfaces, underdrawing, grisaille for values and expanding their color choices into a working palette to lead to a final abstract piece with a primary focus on texture and palette knife skills.

This class is introductory and prepares students for a composition based course with more focus on brushwork which will be offered later this year. Set of beginner's oil paints and starters supply of solvent and mediums included with class fee.
