Learn the historic art form of block printing! In this workshop, we will look to the fall season for inspiration for our block print designs. Each student will carve their own rubber block and stamp the design onto two cloth tea towels.

AGES: 15 years and up

EXPERIENCE: Beginner

MATERIALS: All supplies are included. Carving tools, rubber blocks, scrap paper for test prints, printing paper, ink, brayers, and drawing pencils. Students can feel free to bring their own inspiration or designs, but instructor will also provide some inspiration. Tea towels will need to dry overnight. Printed fabric must cure for one week at room temperature before laundering. Wash with cool water.

INSTRUCTOR: Amber John of Remedy Press and Ink & Matter

Amber is the artist behind Remedy Press, a printmaking project, and Ink & Matter, a calligraphy and design business focused on weddings. Her inspiration comes primarily from nature, travel, and her community, but she is always looking for new sources of inspiration. Coming from an artistic family, Amber is always surrounded by creativity and loves to explore different art forms.
