This is a two-part class, Thursday, April 4th from 6-8pm and Thursday, April 11th from 6-9pm.
In this two-part class with Dailys Catering, we will be focusing on the art of Pie Making and how to beautifully display it!
In Part One, we will be constructing our own wooden pie stand at MUSEjar! We will be incorporating wood burning techniques, with a variety of designs to choose to embellish your pie plate. You have the choice of keeping the stand natural or finishing with paint! Once your designs are in place, you will seal and protect!
Part Two will be held at Dailys Catering where you will learn the Art of the Pie. You will refine dough making techniques, and pick up some tips and tricks along the way. Learn how to make a food processor crust at home applying the lifetime skill of rolling and handling dough by hand. We will discuss both sweet and savory fillings and you will finish the class with your own just baked apple pie hot out of the oven.
*Class focus is classic apple pie, as well as information on other fruit fillings.

Instructors: Laura Cott of LaCott Fine Art & Karen Mayhew of Dailys Catering
Laura Cott is artist + owner of LaCott Fine Art living and working in Western New York, based out of a studio in Orchard Park, NY. Cott grew up in Western NY and graduated from Buffalo State College with a Bachelors in Fine Arts degree in painting. She works closely with other creative minds in her community to pursue the teaching of the arts in WNY while pursuing her passion to create, paint and make every day.
The food at Dailys has been a staple in the East Aurora community since 1993. When owner Karen Mayhew first stepped out with her basket full of goodies to sell to the people of this village, she initiated a relationship that has continued to connect people through delicious food. Dailys offers so much more than private and corporate catering to the surrounding areas, and the range of services we offer has grown exponentially with the opening of our new shop in May 2015.
