Learn how to hand paint and steam set silk, and dye your own personal rainbow, by working your way through the chakras, from crown to root. We’ll learn the science behind acid dyeing animal protein fibers, a bit about what those chakras actually mean, and finish the class by mounting your dyed projects into a gorgeous wall hanging perfect for welcoming spring vibe and color for a fresh start.
Ages: 16 years and up - no experience necessary!
Materials: All materials provided, but students should bring a blow dryer.

Tami is a modern fiber artist, whose work merges traditional foundations with today’s textured techniques, and vibrant colorwork. She enjoys working with multiple fiber media, and is passionate about revitalizing and sparking a new appreciation for the fiber arts through education, and inspiring and empowering a new generation of makers. She is known for Collaborweave, an interactive weaving project which encourages community participation and creative collaboration, and her work has received awards from NY Sheep and Wool.
