Exploring color as artists and scientists as we utilize natural items such as food and flowers to create a custom tie dye t-shirt. Allowing children to investigate how plants can create natural pigment and patterns on natural fibers. Playing with petals and getting messy with food as we create a one of a kind masterpiece.
NOTE - Please state the size of t-shirt needed upon purchasing. Shirts can be cured for up to a week to deepen color after steaming. When you return home with your bundle you may choose to steam for an additional hour or store in a cool, dry space away from sunlight while you allow the piece to cure.

Materials: Botanical dye materials include food scraps, herbs and floral waste that will be provided along with a pre-treated cotton t-shirt to dye. Students are welcome to bring their own natural fiber garment to experiment with as well.
