These little guys are traditional authentic Swedish Christmas gnomes, called Tomtes, meant to bring good luck and protection during the dark evenings approaching yule. We'll create them using a traditional wool doll making technique, pre-made felt yardage, needle felt technique and authentic Gotland Locks, which is a heritage Swedish breed of sheep. The class will construct a grouping of 3 - 2 larger/standard size, and 1 little cutie to round off the set.
Ages: 16 years and up - no experience necessary!

Tami is a modern fiber artist, whose work merges traditional foundations with today’s textured techniques, and vibrant colorwork. She enjoys working with multiple fiber media, and is passionate about revitalizing and sparking new appreciation for the fiber arts through education, and inspiring and empowering a new generation of makers. She is known for Collaborweave, an interactive weaving project which encourages community participation and creative collaboration, and her work has received awards from NY Sheep and Wool.
