Beyond the Basics - Tapestry Weaving Workshop with Pidge Pidge

Registration for this class is currently closed. Check out future workshops with pidge pidge below!

Take your tapestry weaving to the next level and develop your unique style in this intermediate workshop. There are countless techniques to explore once you’ve mastered the basics of plain weave, fringe, and soumak braids. Let’s play with adding texture, designing pattern, working with negative space, and using color inspiration.

You’ll learn intermediate techniques on your tapestry loom, receive 3 hours of hands-on instruction, and plenty of ideas and encouragement.

Ages: 16 years and up - some experience required.

Materials: Bring your own in progress weaving or at least warped tapestry frame loom and weaving supplies. BYOY encouraged, but not mandatory (bring your own yarn - emphasis on using up your scrap bin yarn/ little balls leftover from finished/abandoned projects to have the best color selection). Pen to jot down ideas, beverage/snacks if desired.

You’ll have the opportunity to purchase various weaving accessories, including Tapestry Weaving Companion, wooden needles in several lengths, heddle bars, wooden shuttles, and additional warp.

Instructor: Vanessa Lauria of pidge pidge
